Through many years of “Rockin’ down the Highway”, the Retro Rockers were “Running down a Dream”. They had become “Comfortably Numb” after their efforts to “Rock and Roll all nite” had stalled. They knew – that they were “Born to be Wild”.
So they decided to “Come Together” and proclaimed we “Won’t get fooled Again”. They had taken the “Slow Ride” and had not known “It’s a Long Way to the Top (if you wanna rock and roll)”.
And the rest is history – we achieved many of our dreams on our “Stairway to Heaven”. And we thank GOD “We’re an American Band”.
Dave came from the Central Texas music scene. Dave’s love for rhythm began at just eight years old. “I saw the Beatles on TV and begged my mom for a drum kit,” he recalls — a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for music.
Over the years, Dave has drummed for bands including Tulsa County, Speed Blossom, Brooklyn Blues Boys, and nearly a dozen others. His career highlights include opening for the legendary Blue Öyster Cult and performing for years with the Steve Earle.
In 2005, Dave expanded his talents into band development and management, launching Pitch Fork, a country/rock group that gained a strong following. Today, he brings that same dedication and leadership to Retro Rock NTX, serving as both drummer and manager, helping to shape the band’s direction and keep the beats driving forward.
Born in Altus, Oklahoma, Brian’s passion for music began early — he picked up his first guitar at just seven years old. Growing up in a musical family, it was almost inevitable: his mother played piano and sang, his father was a drummer and vocalist, and his grandfather could play just about anything with strings.
After graduating high school, Brian joined the U.S. Air Force, where his service took him from Biloxi, Mississippi to Anchorage, Alaska. Music was a constant companion through those years and beyond. His performance experience includes playing in churches across Anchorage, Alaska; Bolingbrook, Illinois; Van Alstyne, Texas; and Bells, Texas.
Brian’s band affiliations span from “Shattered Soul” in Macon, Georgia, to joining “In Rare Form” in 2018. Soon after, he became an original member of “Retro Rock NTX”, where his guitar skills and vocal talent continue to be a driving force in the band’s signature sound.
Since 2018, Brian has also been self-employed, balancing his business ventures with his enduring commitment to music.
Born and raised in Northern California, Mike is a retired Marine whose love for singing has been with him through every chapter of life — even while digging a foxhole. As a child, he often stayed inside during recess to sing along with the school record player, a passion that would lead to remarkable experiences on stage.
Mike’s first major singing moment came in 1976 when he performed before Congress. Over the years, he has lent his voice to weddings, beauty pageants and onboard U.S. Navy ships while on deployment. With a versatile background in performance, Mike enjoys Classic Rock — both listening to it and bringing it to life on stage with Retro Rock NTX.
Genghis has been the backbone of Retro Rock NTX’s rhythm section — and the band’s go-to sound technician — almost since its inception. Born in Oklahoma City, his musical journey began in a uniquely memorable way. After enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1972, he began performing in USO shows while stationed in Okinawa from 1974 to 1976. One of his most notable early performances was on July 4, 1977, playing on the White House lawn.
Before joining Retro Rock NTX, Genghis brought his bass expertise to numerous bands, including The Pinch, 3D, Poppa Chubby, Ervin and Wynn, and Triton. With decades of experience, his deep musical roots and technical know-how help shape both the sound and soul of Retro Rock NTX.
